The 15 Minute Marketer: 21 Marketing Activities You CAN Actually Do in 15 Minutes or Less

So many people complain that they just don’t have time for marketing. Here’s a list of 23 things – some of them complete tasks and some of them steps in a larger process – that almost anyone can complete in 15 minutes or less.

Imagine how much you could get done if you set a timer and actually committed to this small amount of time even just 4 days a week – you’ll have accomplished 4 hours of customer attraction activity in a month!  That’s probably a LOT more than you’re doing now, right?

On of my former coaches used to say, “Little steps, taken consistently over time, yield big results.”  Here are 21 little steps:

* Research domain names
* Register a domain name
* Research your niche
* Research key words
* Research topic ideas
* Research stock photos
* Write a thank you note
* Brainstorm with a colleague
* Call your mother
* Check your web site for broken links
* Read marketing education material
* Write the 1st draft or outline of a promotional e-mail message
* Brainstorm topic ideas, titles, potential product ideas
* ‘Download’ thoughts about one topic (either written or recorded) for polishing later into an article, speech, etc.
* Read an e-zine or article from a successful expert – look for the structure and marketing components as well as the content
* Call or write to a lost customer
* Update your data base/address book
* Set up an appointment
* Review and add to your list of ideal client characteristics
* Expand your ideal client list – think about psychographics as well as demographics (for an explanation of these terms, see my article “How To Find Your Perfect Customers” at http://www.marketingmambo.com/articles.html )
* Brainstorm headlines and subheads for a sales letter
* Work on your USP, 15 word phrase or elevator speech

What will YOU work on this week?

    Excellent post. The most important item on my list of things to do in 15 minutes is block time on my calendar to do my 15 minutes things. Sometimes it’s the simple things like saying, ok my calender show that for the next 15 minutes I will work on THIS (whatever this is) and I challenge myself to get the most of those 15 minutes.
